Local petting zoo - Stadsboerderij de Gagelhoeve

The weather has been getting significantly warmer and I crave to go outside more and more. Spring is nearly over, meaning there are lots of baby animals. Every time I have a free afternoon and the sun is shining, it has me wondering - what can I do today? Luckily, in the Netherlands, many large cities have small local petting zoos for children and their parents to visit. It's a great place for kids to get to know some farm animals. I am lucky to live nearby Stadsboerderij de Gagelhoeve where they have goats, sheep, cows, pigs, various chickens, bunnies, guinea pigs and even a farm cat. Especially since the weather has been improving, I am quite a frequent visitor. You can find them here on maps.

The farm is open from Tuesdays to Sundays from 9 to 17 o'clock, but even on Mondays, you can come by and pet the animals over the fence. Just don't try to jump over, it's not allowed.

I have been coming here for at least three years in every season and the photos have just been piling up. This year, I finally got myself to process a few images of your animals and wanted to share some below. I start off with my favorite - three baby goats cuddling up to join in an afternoon nap 😊
